OverviewArcadis’ Calgary office is searching for a Civil Stormwater Engineer to join its growing team. A Civil Stormwater Engineer role is highly rewarding due to its significant impact on public safety, environmental protection, and community well-being. These professionals design and manage systems that prevent flooding, reduce water pollution, and ensure proper drainage, all while contributing to a healthier ecosystem. This position will be working in a multidisciplinary environment, on a variety of projects with sustainability mandates and the incorporation of low-impact development strategies. People and communities thrive when the spaces in which they live, work, move and play are designed and managed to meet their needs.Role accountabilitiesPerform hydrological and hydraulic modelling, including data collection, design review, model setup and calibration, and system assessmentSupport the development of stormwater servicing plansDevelop rainwater source control LID concepts and assist in LID designsProvide technical analysis in support of Civil engineering design associated with municipal or rural stormwater systems and stormwater management facilitiesProvide quality control and peer review on colleagues' projectsCoordinate CAD design technologists to prepare designs ensuring quality procedures are followedCoordinate with project managers on site design, budget, scheduling, proposals and related technical documentsDevelop and maintain positive client, subconsultant, and approving authority relationshipsQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related fieldRegistration as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) or EIT with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)Minimum of 3 years of experience in assessment, modeling, and detailed design of stormwater systems. Detailed design experience in general municipal engineering, transportation, or community development projectsExperience in infrastructure master planning, flood management, or river modelling is an assetExcellent organizational, communication, and technical writing skillsStrong software skills: using hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software such as PCSWMM, XPSWMM, HEC-RAS, SWMHYMO, Civil 3D as well as Excel, Word, and BluebeamWhy Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position.
