This full-time position focuses on assisting Indigenous individuals navigating the court system in Fort McMurray. The ideal candidate possesses a social work degree or related experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of Indigenous communities and their histories. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and technological skills are essential to thrive in this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Explain court charges and procedures to clients
• Support the development of the virtual court framework
• Collaborate with courts, community, and government systems
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
• Handle multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines
Requirements:
• In-depth knowledge of Indigenous cultures and languages
• Effective communication and conflict management skills
• Strong IT proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office
• Valid criminal record and child intervention checks
