You will be responsible for planning and automating device software and firmware testing capabilities for Photonic Compute and Photonic interconnect products. Collaboration with software and hardware teams is essential to enhance quality delivery, utilizing industry best practices.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for embedded software and systems.Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.Conduct Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing to simulate real-world scenarios.Utilize JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers for troubleshooting.Track and manage defects using issue tracking systems like Jira or GitHub issues.Analyze test results and generate detailed reports.Automate test scripts using languages like Python or Bash.Collaborate with hardware and software teams to resolve issues and improve quality.Contribute to testing methodologies and best practices.Report progress, metrics, and potential roadblocks to leadership.Candidate QualificationsBS and 8+ years of experience, or MS and 6+ years of experience.Familiarity with embedded development, RTOS, and testing methodologies for embedded systems.Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and HIL testing.Scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation.Experience with PyTest, CppUtest, static analysis, and other test frameworks.Knowledge of embedded system architectures and hardware interfaces.Ability to work with cross-functional teams.Experience with version control and issue tracking systems.Proficiency with debugging tools like JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers.Preferred QualificationsUnderstanding of embedded Linux and driver development.Knowledge of peripheral buses and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet).Experience with test planning tools like TestRail or Zephyr Scale.Experience with performance testing, security testing, and leading QA teams.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary range: $1 CAD - $2 CAD (based on experience and location).Health Care, Retirement Savings, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, Family Leave, Disability, Training, Commuter Benefits, Flexible Work, Equity Grants.Additional InformationLightmatter is an equal opportunity employer.
