OverviewNurse Manager — Health PEI, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, CanadaResponsibilitiesLeadership, supervision, and management of nursing and clinical servicesLeadership role in preventative measures and follow-up associated with quality assurance and risk managementProvide visible and practical guidance, supervision, direction, and support to nursing and clinical staffParticipate in the development and implementation of Mental Health & Addictions strategic directionPartner with provincial colleagues in the provision of related servicesServe as a professional role model promoting the organizational values and principlesContribute to a climate that fosters cooperation, collaboration, case management, teamwork and growthMonitor clinical performance against pre-determined objectives, standards, and budgetsCollaborate with the clinical nurse educator in identifying the educational needs of staff and in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of educational programsCollaborate with the Public Service Commission in the recruitment, interview, and staff selection process; facilitate student placements and preceptorshipsParticipates in a rotating on-call schedule, providing after hours support to the acute care unitsParticipate directly in the budget process; forecasting, implementing budget restraints, identifying capital submissions, monitoring and analyzing budget responsibilities, and reporting variancesSupervises the procurement, maintenance, and use of equipment and supplies, keeps up to date on equipment needs, considers budget implications, and makes recommendations to senior administrationOther duties as requiredMinimum QualificationsSuccessful completion of a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing/Psychiatric NursingActive or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses and Midwives of Prince Edward IslandMust have extensive experience in psychiatric and mental health nursingAdditional relevant education and experience in leadership will be considered an assetConsiderable experience in supervisory/administrative nursingHigh level of critical thinking, organizational, judgment, and group management skills; ability to anticipate and assess future needs, problem solve, provide direction, and develop all aspects of the nursing and clinical departmentsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing and collaborate effectively with staff, health professionals, patients, and families, with emphasis on conflict resolution and team-buildingKnowledge and broad understanding of the health care system on a provincial basisKnowledge of current trends and issues in health care that enable the development of options and recommendationsGood previous work and attendance recordExperience using computer programs and software, e.g., email, Microsoft Office, internetOther QualificationsCertification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing with the Canadian Nurses Association is an assetNon-Violent Crisis Intervention; Gentle Persuasive Approach; AdvanceCode White; and Suicide Risk Assessment preferredSalaryBase pay range: CA$45.76/hr - CA$56.29/hrBi-Weekly Hours: 75.0 hours Bi-weekly - 8-hour shifts (Days); Evenings and Weekends as per Operational RequirementsPosting and ContactPosting Id: 167490Closing Date: Thursday September 11, 2025 at 4:00pm #J-18808-Ljbffr
