Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking a Safety Specialist to join our dynamic team in Ontario. This role will be working on site, Monday-Friday, 8 hr days.

The Safety Specialist is responsible for:
ensuring construction activities comply with the safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) requirements and monitors daily activities to identify hazardous conditions and implementation of safe work procedures
working closely with construction management team (CMT) and contractors
ensuring all safety, health and environmental procedures and work instructions are followed
conducting workplace inspections with CMT, focusing on behavioural observations
reviewing field level risk assessments (FLRAs) and daily contact cards for quality adherence
conducting and monitoring SHEQ related training for construction management team (CMT) personnel and contractors and assess qualifications of construction contractor personnel as needed
participating in job hazard assessments, safety meetings, toolbox meetings, constructability reviews, and project kick-off meetings, upon request
conducting daily and weekly job site inspections as per procedure
identifying and reviewing various health and safety concerns specific to the work site
investigating injuries, accidents and near misses as per site corrective action processes
ensuring timely notification occurs of significant events
monitoring quality of incident investigations and ensures effective and appropriate corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner

Salary: Open to wage negotiations based on experience and qualifications.
