OverviewJoin Rogers Communications as a Cyber Security Specialist to support and optimize the day-to-day operations of complex security systems across on‑prem and cloud environments. The role includes managing service queues, contributing to security projects, and ensuring operational excellence through process improvements and documentation updates.LocationBrampton, ON – 8200 Dixie Road (101)Calgary, AB – open to hireResponsibilitiesSupport day‑to‑day operations of multi‑facet security systems and solutions adhering to policies, processes, and procedures.Address the service queue across multiple ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy).Interpret solution design and architecture specifications for hardware/software compatibility.Contribute to the delivery of security projects and programs.Participate in overnight maintenance windows as scheduled by project or production needs.Take part in an on‑call rotation for after‑hours support.Develop and improve operational processes and procedures.Review and update operational documentation as assigned.Support SOC investigations, help extract relevant data, and provide supporting evidence.QualificationsMinimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in operational support of on‑prem security solutions.Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in operational support of cloud‑based security solutions.Working knowledge of SIEM software at the enterprise level.Experience with security attack detection and prevention tools like CrowdStrike.Proven experience working with WAF or WAAP cloud‑based solutions.Excellent Excel skills manipulating data and creating reports from multiple data sources.Practical application of scripting in Java, Python, PowerShell.Query or data management coding in SQL, KQL, XML, JSON.Proven knowledge of navigating Linux/Unix command‑line utilities.Experience in Dynatrace operations.Working knowledge of the Elastic stack (Kibana or similar).Preferred CompetenciesExperience presenting technical points to technical, user, and management levels.Team oriented with extensive experience working in complex technical projects.Self‑driven with ability to accept responsibility with minimal supervision.Disciplined with systematic approach to tasks, well organized.Effective communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.Professional designation such as CISSP, CISM, etc. (an asset).BenefitsCompetitive salary & annual bonus.Health and dental benefits, pension plan, RRSP, TFSA, and stock matching programs.Discounts: up to 50% off Rogers services, 25% off TSC items, 20% discount on wireless accessories.Paid time off for volunteering and company matching to charities.Growth and development opportunities (self‑driven career development, internal priority).Wellness programs: employee assistance, CBT, virtual therapy, low‑cost fitness membership.Commitment to environmental protection and diversity and inclusion.Background CheckTo protect our people, brand, and assets, a pre‑employment background check will be conducted.
