Overview Market Leader, Transmission & Distribution (Ontario & Atlantic) – WSP in Canada Our Power subsector, a key component of WSP’s ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients from coast to coast. We provide a comprehensive range of services including technical study preparation, project management, detailed design, and site services. To meet our growth challenges, WSP is seeking a Market Lead, T&D (Ontario, Atlantic) to join our National Electrical Team, located in one of our Ontario or Atlantic offices. This role is responsible for overseeing and leading the technical T&D practice in Ontario and Atlantic, including leading projects, managing certain accounts and engagements, and ensuring compliance with national and local regulations along with maintaining high standards of service reliability and customer satisfaction. WSP is a leader in delivering clean energy and Power sector solutions to support safe, secure, and sustainable energy for Canadians, which requires expanding the electricity transmission network. What you can expect to do here: Be the Technical Market Leader for T&D in Ontario and Atlantic Lead and grow the Transmission and Distribution practice in your market sector Act as a thought leader and be externally recognized as a top resource in the field Make decisions on highly complex issues regarding work approach for project components and team responsibilities Anticipate business needs, secure resources, and lead change initiatives Provide recommendations on highly technical aspects of WSP projects Lead certain client accounts and engagements within T&D Support growth of technical disciplines required for T&D Ensure compliance with regulations and standards; provide governance on major T&D projects Provide governance on T&D projects including quality and leadership on proposals Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders to improve quality and project delivery, including management of subconsultants Mentor and coach other T&D staff as required What you’ll bring to WSP: More than 10 years’ experience in a leadership role with Power sector experience in Transmission & Distribution Engineering degree in a related discipline or technical diploma Proven experience in business development with an existing network in the T&D market Strong financial and business acumen; P&L management is an asset Strong understanding of the energy sector, including trends and technologies related to energy transformation and decarbonization Ability to negotiate and build client relationships P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation is an asset Bilingual in French and English is an asset About Us WSP is a leading professional services firm with a purpose to future-proof cities and environments.
