You'll own the full product development lifecycle while collaborating with our design and manufacturing teams to create exceptional products.Key Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end product engineering, from initial concepts through design validation, prototyping, and manufacturing handoff, ensuring both innovation and feasibility.Develop detailed engineering specifications, CAD models, and technical documentation while maintaining alignment with industrial design vision and manufacturing constraints.Partner with clients, design teams, and manufacturing vendors to optimize designs for production, addressing DFM/DFA requirements and cost targets.Drive engineering research into new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes to expand our technical capabilities and competitive advantage.Establish and document engineering best practices, with focus on sustainability, reliability, and scalable production.Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to building a culture of engineering excellence.Guide cross-functional teams through technical challenges and tradeoff decisions while maintaining product integrity.Requirements:Strong mechanical engineering foundation with 8+ years of product development experience, taking products from concept through mass production.Expert-level proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and simulation tools for engineering analysis.Deep understanding of manufacturing processes (injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining) and DFM principles.Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and creating comprehensive engineering documentation.Track record of developing innovative technical solutions while balancing cost, quality, and manufacturability.Proven ability to work effectively with industrial designers, ensuring technical feasibility while preserving design intent.Strong problem-solving skills and systematic approach to engineering challenges.Excellent communication abilities to present technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.Experience mentoring junior engineers and driving engineering excellence.Benefits:Competitive compensation package.Performance bonuses.Comprehensive health and dental coverage.RRSP matching program.Flexible hybrid schedule (3 days in-studio, 2 days remote).Access to advanced prototyping lab.Employee product discounts.Transit and cycling benefits.Modern, well-equipped Montreal studio.Join us in creating products that make a meaningful impact while pushing the boundaries of engineering excellenceLocations: MontrealRemote status: N/AWorking at OcemidaLife at OcemidaInnovation through engineering excellence defines our culture at Ocemida.
