In this rewarding position, you will be leading the FPGA design and development of the programming and readout electronics for our advanced superconducting quantum processors.What You'll DoDesign and implement the next generation quantum processor control and readout system electronics based on Xilinx RFSoCsContinuous improvement of the current electronics systemsWork closely with the multi-disciplinary teams in Engineering, Software and Processor Development and act as a key interface between the teamsClearly document and communicate the work and progress to the internal development teamsLead and mentor junior engineers as the FPGA subject matter expert on the teamAbout YouProficient in VHDL/Verilog (VHDL preferred)Proficiency in Python and scripting and programming languages such as C/C++Excellent hands-on ability and board trouble shooting skills, including circuit debugging with vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers and related toolsAbility to work in a fast-paced team environment that is focused on priorities and end resultsSelf-motivated, proactive, flexible and passionate about learningExcellent verbal and written English communication skillsMaster’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or Experimental PhysicsFamiliarity with OrCad schematic and PCB layout toolsExperience in microwave circuit design including filtering, switching, multiplexing, and transmission linesExperience with microwave frequency designExperience with superconducting circuitsStrong software engineering skills related to experimental design, data acquisition, and analysisRegistered as a EIT or Professional Engineer in British Columbia preferredRequired5+ years of experience in FPGA developmentDegree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Experimental Physics, or equivalent in relevant education and experienceExtensive experience in FPGA design, preferably with Xilinx/AMD RFSoC devicesStrong knowledge of high-speed serial interfaces such as DDR, PCIe and EthernetExperience designing high-speed PCBs and performing signal integrity analysisA D-Waver's DNAWe look at the future and say “why not”; we see possibilities where others see problems or routines.
