Job Description - Senior Painter & Paint Shop Supervisor - Aerospace Assemblies and Components

A 70-year-old company specializes in the Fabrication & Manufacturing of FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEMS for Aerospace, Power Generation, Nuclear and Processing Industries requires an experienced Senior Painter and Paint Shop Supervisor, on site, for a Permanent, Long-Term opportunity in MISSISSUAGA, ONTARIO. This company is experiencing a prolonged growth spurt and needs to add professional-minded people to our experienced and dedicated team.

· The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

· Must have painting experience with Aluminum metals.

· Candidates Must be a “Results” focused person, with a passion to deliver high quality assemblies.

· Must be focused on improving all areas of the painting process, and the continuous development of your paint skills and those of your teammates.

Any Paint approvals with Aerospace OEMs is especially important.

Any Bombardier, Siemens, GE, Boeing, Honeywell approvals are valued.

Please provide a list of approvals held currently and historically.

Job Summary:

· Full Time, Permanent position. Reporting to the Production Manager. Active in Painting and working with the Paint Cell, Chemical Processing Cell, Quality and Laboratory teams, to oversee the operational and quality compliance of all activities in the Paint shop.

Job Definition Statement/Outcomes:

· Follow ISO 9001, AS9100, company and client specifications accordingly.

· To prepare the parts for primer, paint, and clear coat applications.

· Maintain paint stores, paint equipment, all accessories, and consumables.

· To understand follow and train production work orders and the related specification, process, and testing activities in order to prepare and apply coatings.

· Prepare materials, ensure parts are prepared, cleaned, and masked accurately prior to painting.

· To prepare equipment, mix paint, check paint viscosity, ensure compliance and record in logbooks.

· To use a spray gun properly to coat the surface of parts, assemblies and finished products with protective materials such as primer, paint and clear coats according to drawing and process specifications.

· Preparing parts surface to be coated; includes buffing and or reworking part surface according to specifications.

· Complete curing of parts using appropriate drying and baking procedures.

· Troubleshoot and correct problems with equipment/ paint booth as they arise.

· Maintain and service spray guns/equipment, ventilation, and PPE.

· Maintain clean and organized work area.

· Adhere and enforce high safety standards and safe work practices.

· Oversee and manage other Junior Painters with their duties and responsibilities.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
