For any hiring related accommodation needs and/or requests please email us via careers@nhh.ca.LOCATIONLocated approximately 100 kilometres east of Toronto, NHH delivers a broad range of acute, post‑acute, outpatient and diagnostic services...Role OverviewReporting to the Manager of Pharmacy, as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for duties within the scope of practice as outlined below.Qualifications / RequirementsDrug distribution to all clinical areas, including dispensing of narcotic and controlled substances, patient‑specific medication, stocking automated dispensing cabinets, verifying accuracy as part of “Tech‑check‑Tech”Dispensing of in‑patient medications, leave of absence medications, and other patient‑specific medication ordersGenerating BPMH from patient interview, collecting sources from community pharmacies or other facilities, and working closely with other interprofessional teamsDrug repackaging, including narcotics, the use of automated packaging equipment and softwareMaintaining established prescription levels in pharmacy as well as in the automated dispensing cabinets including narcotics and controlled substancesCompounding and packaging of sterile and non‑sterile medications including bio‑hazardous agents in acceptance of manufacturing practice and WHMIS guidelinesConducting continuous improvement audits as designated, including expiration date, and monitoring and medication area inspectionsMaintenance of crash cart inventory and recordsAssisting in maintaining inventory records of purchase, issue and receipt of medication in accordance with hospital and legal requirementPerforming miscellaneous projects, filing and clerical duties as assignedQualifications RequiredA diploma from an accredited community college Pharmacy Technician programRegistration with the OCP as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing and proof of liability insuranceRecent hospital pharmacy experience preferred or comparable applicable work experienceEmployment RequirementsSuccessful applicants are required to provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check, that was complete less than one year from the date of hire. This requirement must be met within the first sixty (60) days of employment. Additionally, successful applicants are required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process which includes providing an up‑to‑date immunization record to ensure compliance with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
