What You’ll Do Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open‑ended problems. Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics during the product lifecycle, articulating technical constraints and partnering on decisions that balance risk and trade‑offs. Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them. Support operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and participating in on‑call efforts. Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards, and advocating for them beyond your team through writing and tech talks. Develop talent on your team through providing feedback, guidance, and leading by example. What We Look For 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, or similar languages. Extensive track record supporting highly available distributed systems with AWS, GCP, Azure, distributed databases, containerization, and Kubernetes. Experience building scalable infrastructure components, including pipelines (Jenkins, Buildkite, GitHub Actions), configuration management, and automation. Ability to design, articulate, and deliver significant features or system components with an elegant, simple, and extensible architecture. Proficiency in making large code‑base changes safely and developing tools and practices that enable team-wide reliability. Proactive ownership of personal growth and a collaborative communication style across a global engineering team. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience. Bonus: Ownership and management of developer environments, especially temporary or “ephemeral” setups.
