A.B. Daley Elementary School – Nanton, Alberta Full‑Time Mental Health Professional Livingstone Range School Division is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Professional to join the team at A.B. Daley Elementary School in Nanton, Alberta. This full‑time position is part of the Integrated School Support Program (ISSP), funded in partnership with the Calgary Police Youth Foundation (CPYF). The ISSP model provides layered, holistic supports aimed at strengthening resilience, improving academic outcomes, and enhancing pro‑social behaviours in children and youth. This role is a one‑year term position, renewable annually for up to three years, subject to funding and program needs. About The Role Reporting to the Clinical Team Lead, the Mental Health Professional will bring a psychosocial and therapeutic lens to school‑based mental health supports. Working collaboratively within the school and division teams, the successful candidate will assess mental health needs, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide culturally responsive counselling and therapeutic interventions to elementary‑aged students. Required Qualifications Registered Psychologist Registered Clinical Social Worker Or an equivalent graduate‑level credential Additional Requirements Active registration and good standing with the relevant regulatory college under the Health Professions Act Demonstrated knowledge of evidence‑based therapeutic modalities (e.g., TF‑CBT, DBT, ACT, etc.) Training and experience in crisis intervention, assessment, and case management Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify student needs Develop, implement, and revise individualized treatment plans Provide individual and group counselling using evidence‑based therapeutic approaches Monitor progress, document interventions, and prepare clinical reports as required Support school staff with strategies for learning, behavioural, emotional, and social challenges – including in‑class support for dysregulated students Collaborate with families, community agencies, and external professionals to coordinate care Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups for students and families Advocate for student well‑being within school and community contexts Offer professional development opportunities for school staff Participate in ISSP program evaluation and reporting requirements for CPYF Application Details The successful candidate must provide a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search prior to the start of employment.
