If you’re someone who thrives in a team environment and doesn’t shy away from a good challenge, join usThis is a safety-sensitive position, the successful candidate(s) will be required to successfully complete mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol testing to comply with SaskPower’s Fit for Duty Policy.Job SummaryThe employee in this classification is responsible to fabricate, assemble, operate, troubleshoot, install, commission, maintain, test and repair equipment, machinery, controls, facilities and infrastructure associated with the specific trade.Key AccountabilitiesInterpret and implement plans, drawings and specifications related to installation, modification, repair and operation of equipmentAnalyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions and take corrective action, as requiredParticipate in the design and field modification of apparatus and equipmentInspect, service and operate specialized equipment and toolsRequisition and maintain an adequate inventory of parts and suppliesTroubleshoot, maintain, test and repair industrial, electrical and control systems and other related devicesConduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance recordsArrange for appropriate permits and develop and perform switching procedures, as authorizedRead, compile and maintain records and drawings associated with the positionAdhere to applicable safety and environmental standards, regulations and corporate commitmentsParticipate in continuous educational and professional development, as requiredPrepare cost estimates, as requiredSupervise apprentices and other staff, as requiredMaintain a clean and orderly work areaOther related duties, as assignedKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesInterprovincial Journeyperson Industrial Instrument Technician Certificate, or equivalentMust be able to perform the physical requirements of the positionAbility to cooperate and deal tactfully with othersAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingValid Class 5 driver’s licenceThis position falls within the scope of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 2067.Candidates under consideration may be required to participate in an assessment process consisting of any/all of the following: interview, abilities test, case study and/or presentation.At SaskPower, we believe in the importance of diversity and inclusion.
