Responsibilities

Engineering & Project Management

  1. Project manage technical projects related to water and wastewater treatment facilities, road upgrades, transportation assets, subdivision developments, facilities, and infrastructure condition assessments.
  2. Lead a multidisciplinary team through project deliverables.
  3. Project manage various projects in collaboration with Indigenous communities throughout the Atlantic Provinces.
  4. Collaborate with engineers, planners, scientists, and support staff.
  5. Identify needs and pursue opportunities for Indigenous Communities.

Business Development

  1. Contribute to client needs research, project proposals, and presentations.
  2. Travel to other Dillon offices and project sites as needed.
  3. Track potential funding opportunities and communicate with funding agents.

Learning & Development

  1. Commit to ongoing learning and professional development.
  2. Provide career development for junior staff.
  3. Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through professional associations.
Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

  • Degree in engineering.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training.
  • Four to six years’ work experience in engineering.
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) considered an asset.
Experience

The ideal candidate possesses:

  • Broad and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience in managing Indigenous infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous funding landscape and local communities.
  • Experience with federally-funded projects.
  • Proficiency in project coordination and management for engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong technical report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in community engagement would be an asset.
