They are looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join their teamWhy Work HereExcellent work life balance and cultureFantastic CFO (boss) that will act as a mentorFlexible environmentExcellent benefitsCPA dues coveredAbout the OpportunityKey Responsibilities:Work closely with the CFO and principal on all tax related mattersStay updated on tax law changes and evaluate their implications for the family office\'s financial strategiesPrepare reports and communications for family members and stakeholders regarding tax mattersTax Compliance:Collaborate with external tax advisors and legal counsel as needed to ensure compliance and to leverage opportunitiesCoordinate and review of complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, trusts, and partnerships in multi jurisdictions (Canada/US)Review and coordinate with external advisors to ensure the timely filing of Canadian corporate (T2), trust (T3), and partnership (T5013) tax returns for all family entitiesReview and coordinate with external advisors to ensure the timely filing of all US tax returnsOther regulatory filings in other jurisdictions as neededTax Planning:Providing tax advice on all transactions and reorganizationsLead tax planning initiatives to optimize the family office\'s tax positionAdvise on the optimal structure for new projects and acquisitionsMonitor cross-border transactions, financing and intercompany balances and advise on tax planning opportunities to optimize tax positions and minimize riskMaintenance of Corporate Records:Maintain a library of tax documentsPrepare \"memos to file\" for reorganizations and other ad hoc transactionsMaintain and update legal entity organizational charts for all family entitiesCollaborate with external legal counsel to ensure all transactions are properly documented and executed in a timely mannerAbility to work with finance team on tax related matters and assist with journal entries, balancing and reconciliations for tax transactionsAudit Defence:Managing CRA audits and inquiries from tax authorities and serve as primary point of contactAbout YouCPA designation or equivalentCompletion of in-depth tax course or Mtax considered an assetMinimum of 8 years of experience in tax planning and compliance, preferably in a family office, private equity, or a similar environmentIn-depth knowledge of US and Canadian tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirementsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with family members and advisorsDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in managing sensitive financial informationStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with principal, advisors, and external stakeholdersSalary Range$155,000 - $175,000 / yearHow to ApplyClick the “Apply Now” button and follow the instructions to submit your resume.
