Payments are a critical user journey and a fundamental necessity for any successful digital platform. The Chrome Payments team is focused on building both platform capabilities (like new APIs) and core product features (including Autofill, Chrome UX, and innovative AI/Agentic Purchase flows) to ensure payments are seamless and secure for billions of users and the developers serving them. The team is also dedicated to enabling entirely new types of web transactions. The goal is to equip the web with the necessary payment primitives to spur innovative business models and fully support emerging AI‑driven purchases. In this role, you will significantly improve and simplify payments for users globally, affecting both manual flows and the rapidly growing area of AI/Agentic Purchases. Responsibilities Write product or system development code. Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency). Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback. Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality. Work collaboratively with the Chrome Payments team to design and implement improvements to existing payments APIs in Chrome and build new Web Platform APIs, Chrome UX or AI/Agentic Payment capabilities to make payments on the Web simpler and more trustworthy.
