Therapy Assistant Assisted Living Alberta – Edmonton Zone Continuing Care Assisted Living Alberta is dedicated to enhancing care in the community, helping adults and seniors live healthy, independent lives in congregate settings. We seek a Therapy Assistant to join our Facility & Supportive Living team and provide care and support to adults and seniors.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, recreation, speech-language pathology) to deliver client‑centered rehabilitation services. Assist with equipment provision, mobility and strengthening programs, ADL and transfer training, and other activities directed by the supervising therapist. Monitor effectiveness of assigned tasks, maintain documentation, and follow up with clients and team. Work independently in clients’ homes and congregate settings, adapting to home environments and weather conditions.

Participate in quality improvement, program planning and student supervision. Required Qualifications Completion of a diploma from an accredited post‑secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training. Basic Cardiac Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BCLS‑HCP). Strong communication, assessment, professional judgment, initiative, and time‑management skills.

Ability to work independently, lift and carry medical bags (~25‑30 lbs), and operate a computer with proficiency in Microsoft Office and related applications. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a Continuing Care setting. Knowledge of Connect Care. Palliative Care experience.
