Overview:

Pembina is currently recruiting an Engineering Intern in the Pipeline Integrity team. Reporting to the Manager of Pipeline Integrity, you will support the Technical Services Unit (TSU) located in Calgary, Alberta.

On behalf of Pembina’s Business Units, TSU manages a comprehensive integrity management program, which includes Facility Integrity, Pipeline Integrity, Geotechnical, Corrosion Control, Asset Management, Product Quality and Measurement, Geographical Information System, Integrity Project Execution, and Automation Services. TSU provides leading technical expertise that optimizes performance and minimizes operational and project risk.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
  1. Data analysis for Pipeline Integrity Specialists;
  2. Finalize and format In-Line Inspection Dig Plan reports after final dig selection;
  3. Review monthly cathodic protection readings to ensure regulatory compliance and identify non-compliances to determine corrective actions;
  4. Review third-party crossing requests to gather necessary pipeline integrity information for Specialists to action;
  5. Support long-range integrity plans and annual integrity budget analysis;
  6. Monthly Pipeline Integrity and Geotechnical KPI report preparation;
  7. Gather data to support Integrity Management Program updates and risk reporting;
  8. Monthly correlation of data and unity plot creation;
  9. Integrity excavation final report QA/QC and database updates;

Qualifications:

Completion of the third year of a four-year accredited Engineering post-secondary program;

Committed to learning and working hard in a results-driven team environment;

Past experience working as part of a team (work-related or extra-curricular) would be considered an asset;

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and programming software;

Good technical writing skills a strong asset;

Demonstrate understanding of basic principles related to engineering;

Previous experience working in an engineering environment would be beneficial.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
