The Partner Assault Response (PAR) program is a Domestic Violence Court initiative. Referrals to the program are received through the criminal court system and Probation and Parole. The PAR program delivers a specialized community-based group education/counselling to clients who have been mandated by the court to attend the program in response to a criminal charge involving domestic violence. Our organization also provides work-life balance and free parking Position Summary CFSPD is currently seeking a Client Navigator who would be working in the Partner Assault Response (PAR) program. The Client Navigator will be responsible for completing intakes and providing group facilitation and individual support as well as psychoeducation for individuals who have used violence or abuse in their intimate partner relationships and have been charged with a domestic violence-related offence. The individual would also provide support, referrals, risk assessment, and safety planning for all partners and ex-partners of the participants of the program. This is a hybrid role that requires 2 evenings per week and availability on a Saturday (during the day). Responsibilities Practice sound and effective case management skills to ensure service delivery aligns with a trauma-informed framework, as well as anti-racist and inclusive principles. Complete intakes, assessments, and provide individual and group programs for perpetrators of domestic violence. Provide crisis intervention and complete risk management plans with clients who pose an increased risk of harm to their partners. Attend Domestic Violence Court as needed to register clients referred to the PAR program through the Early Intervention Stream. Collaborate with justice partners and ensure timely and accurate sharing of information with Probation and Parole and with the Crown Attorney’s Office. Consult and report any risk concerns to agencies such as child welfare authorities, probation services, police services and court services as appropriate. Complete partner contact calls and provide risk assessment, safety planning and referrals to partners of PAR clients. Organize and conduct case conferences for clients. Support clients on the waiting list by maintaining accurate records, files, statistics, and additional relevant information in accordance with agency policy and funding requirements. Prepare, compile, submit, and maintain accurate records, files, statistics, and additional relevant information in accordance with agency policy and funding requirements. Prepare accurate and professional reports for justice partners, such as courts, as well as social service agencies, such as the Children’s Aid Society. Keep careful and accurate records and maintain client case file on database of all relevant information pertaining to assigned caseload, including demographic data, session notes, and client interactions. Positively and professionally represent the agency in the community by collaborating with community partners. Remain up to date with relevant information and practices related to working with clients who have been impacted by or experienced domestic violence. Participate in agency fundraising activities as deemed appropriate and necessary by Agency Management. Attend required agency activities and meetings. Perform other duties assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in social work, or other related human service field and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience required. Registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Registered Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, or eligible to register with one of these Colleges, is required. Three (3) years of experience facilitating groups and providing counselling and psychoeducation is preferred. Experience working with men is an asset. Solid understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence as a social issue and its impact on the victim, the perpetrator and family, as well as other factors/issues that create additional barriers to healthy relationships. Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with diverse populations through an intersectional, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive lens. Knowledge of the principles and practices of counselling, social work, and case management. Knowledge and experience utilizing crisis intervention and de‑escalation techniques. Crisis Prevention/Intervention training is an asset. Ability to work with individuals who experience mental health, homelessness and substance use/abuse challenges through a harm reduction, trauma-informed lens. Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment with coworkers, community providers and stakeholders and clients in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to represent the agency to the staff, clients, and community by ensuring the best image is presented. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (French as well as other languages an asset). Proficient computer skills and experience using the Microsoft Office suite. Working knowledge of database management and virtual service delivery. A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records check.
