Occupational Therapist

Duties Provide vocational assessment and rehabilitation planning. Provide individual Occupational Therapy assessment and individual and group treatment to referred adult clients. Contribute to the interdisciplinary treatment planning. Attend clinical and program meetings as required. Liaise with appropriate community agencies as required. Provide supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants and Occupational Therapy students. Contribute to furthering of the goals of the Occupational Therapy profession including attending monthly meetings. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, to the program and to the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario standards of practice. Must be willing to discuss performance of other duties as requested by program/discipline/hospital. Partner with clients in the development of their recovery goals Work with clients and care team in the identification of resources in community to promote transition from hospital services and reintegration to community Develop individual and group treatment plans to be implemented by Occupational Therapy Assistants. Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal. Ensure a work environment that is conducive to The Royalu2019s Anti-Racism, Harassment and Discrimination-Free Workplace Policy. Qualifications Master of Science program in Occupational Therapy (MSc (OT)) or equivalent according to College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario standards. Minimum of 3 years Occupational Therapy experience, preferably with adults with severe mental illness. Member of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario mandatory. Experience working with adult psychiatric population is preferred. Experience working with clients in the community preferred. Experience in motivational interviewing and CBT is an asset. Membership in CAOT and OSOT preferred. Experience with developing and leading psycho-educational and therapeutic groups is essential. Experience with recovery based programs for the seriously mentally ill is preferred. Excellent communication skills, organizational ability, critical thinking and goal setting skills. Knowledge of community resources. Knowledge of applicable legislated acts (i.e. MHA, The Health Care Consent Act). Ability to work independently. Sound clinical judgment. Experience in community consultation is an asset. Ability to work in a team; establish and maintain good working relations. Enter workload measurement data according to hospital policies. English level A- is mandatory in oral comprehension, expression, reading and writing. Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset. #J-18808-Ljbffr
