Its work is sustained by corporate sponsors, individual donors, and a generous giving community.THE OPPORTUNITY Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the leadership, development and management of daily operations, including setting the strategic direction, financial stewardship, leadership of staff and volunteers, and advocacy on behalf of kidney cancer patients. The ED will ensure execution of the organization’s mission, provide education, support and advocacy, increasing awareness for individuals and families affected by kidney cancer and influence impact across Canada. This is a remote/virtual leadership opportunity to make a significant impact to a meaningful cause and lead continual growth and expansion. Occasional travel is required.ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and direction to staff and volunteers, managing service delivery, programming, fundraising, operations, human resources, financial and administrative management.Responsible for the overall financial health of KCC, including financial planning, budgeting, and risk management.Oversee efficient delivery of patient programs, ensuring quality, excellence, effectiveness, evaluation and revision.Lead advocacy efforts at provincial and national levels, influencing health policy and access to treatment options.Deepen and refine all aspects of communications to strengthen brand and capitalize on new opportunities, including website, social media, newsletters and external relations.Manage the planning and execution of fundraising activities, including donor development, events, and individual and corporate giving channels, identifying opportunities for future collaboration and diversification.Ensure transparent working relationships with the Board, providing timely and informed reporting.Provide oversight on all administrative and operational activities, ensuring compliance with governance, financial management, legal requirements and strategic recommendations for growth and development.Maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, board members, committees, governmental bodies, advocacy groups, partnering organizations, and donors.Selection CriteriaRelevant post-secondary degree or diploma, or evidence of equivalent training and experience.Experience working in a non-profit setting, including experience working with a Board of Directors.Progressively senior leadership experience with demonstrated ability to develop and mobilize teams.Volunteer management experience and ability to cultivate and maximize use of volunteer resources.Effective financial and business acumen with previous accountability for financial operations.Experience fostering a positive workplace culture, lead by example, monitor burnout and mitigate problems.Empathetic and emotionally intelligent leader with the ability to connect, engage and empower people.Excellent administrative, organizational and program management skills with strong attention to detail.Strong marketing, public relations and fundraising experience, with the ability to connect and engage with a wide range of stakeholders and cultures and foster community.Excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving, conflict management skills and ability to influence.Strong facilitative and collaborative leadership, management, and relationship skills.Proficiency in both of Canada’s official languages is an asset.To apply, please send a resume and cover letter quoting project #26104Contact: jen@harrisleadership.com #J-18808-Ljbffr
