Emergency Response Coordinator Alamos Gold Inc. Alamos Gold’s Young‑Davidson is a low‑cost, long‑life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan, centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young‑Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. Reporting to the Superintendent, Health Safety and Training, the Emergency Response Coordinator will promote a safe mine by providing training to surface crews on relevant government modules and in‑house training requirements, designed to prevent injuries. They will coordinate emergency response programs to ensure emergency preparedness at site, act as a resource on health and safety issues, and advocate the internal responsibility system. Primary Responsibilities Assist with the scheduling for the Mine Rescue Program. Schedule and facilitate emergency response drills and debriefs, and provide report on findings and recommendations to the site management team. Assist in updating the Emergency Preparedness Plan. Ensure monthly inspections of emergency response equipment are carried out and documented, and any deficiencies are corrected; equipment must always be emergency ready. Maintain the Rave notification system for Mine Rescue and other personnel. Conduct periodic tests of the Rave notification system (minimum twice per calendar year). Ensure an appropriate number of employees are trained for the SERT and UG Mine Rescue. Maintain positive and informative relationships with outside emergency preparedness groups, such as Ontario Mine Rescue (WSN), local fire departments and emergency equipment suppliers. Supervise a course in Ontario Mine Rescue. Perform workplace visits and inspections to audit safety performance and systems, monitor compliance with safety policies and procedures, and inform key stakeholders of any hazardous infractions. Periodically attend crew safety meetings as an observer or presenter to provide updates on any changes related to site emergency response. Maintain awareness of safety regulations, industry trends, and new practices. Qualifications & Experience Ontario Mine Rescue Experience (Active or Inactive). Experience in Emergency Response and Planning. ‘Train the Trainer’ accreditation. Experience delivering training programs. Accreditation in government training modules. Attendance in a Mine Rescue Management/Supervisor Course. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a mine production environment. Self‑starter who can anticipate needs and work independently with minimal supervision. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced, growing work environment. Excellent inter‑personal skills together with an ability to facilitate commitment to a cooperative team effort. Good communication skills, both orally and written with both internal and external contacts and the ability to work with all levels of the organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required. Experience in health and safety at work in the mining field. Working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Mines & Mining Plants. Ability to plan and schedule programs and activities. Effective ability to convey messages in an organized, clear, and succinct way. High level of energy, self‑motivation, and strong organizational skills. Experience 3 years: Emergency Response and Planning 1 year: Delivering training programs 5 years: Experience in Mine Production Environment Schedule 4 days on, 3 days off, 10‑hour shifts.
