OAKVIEW WOODS, SUMMER DAY CAMP COUNSELLORS (5) (Temporary Full Time; 40 hours/week; June -August 30, 2026) The Town of Wasaga Beach is seeking five (5) creative, energetic and self-motivated team players to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of Oakview Woods Summer Day Camp Counsellors. General Responsibilities Reporting to the Recreation Programmer, Camp Counsellors will work as part of a team who are responsible for the creation, implementation and delivery of programs to campers 4 to 10 years of age. Camp Counsellors will engage with the campers in a variety of recreation programs by maintaining staff to camper ratios ensuring safety. The successful candidate(s) will be required to communicate effectively with campers, parents, the community and Town staff. Qualifications Minimum age 16; High school diploma and previous leadership training preferred; Previous related job experience working with children 0 to 12 years of age; Coaching experience in sport and certifications through NCCP or other sport specific accreditation including High Five, considered an asset; Experience facilitating children’s activities, such as: sports, drama, crafts and musical programs, events or tournaments considered an asset; Strong interpersonal and effective written and verbal communication skills required; Ability to provide exceptional customer service and promote town of Wasaga beach recreation programs; Effective problem solving skills required; An acceptable and current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference check is required for individuals 18+ years of age; Standard First Aid CPR – C with AED certification required; General knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act; Ability to lead, work with and contribute positively to a service oriented team; Ability to work in inclement weather conditions; Available to attend SCRA Training on May 30, 2026; Rate of Pay Range: $18.50 - $20.01 per hour Closing Date: January 25, 2026 at 4:00pm Apply Here The Town of Wasaga Beach is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to an inclusive, barrier-free environment.
