Work Site Environment Non-smoking Work Setting Millwork shop Commercial Responsibilities Operate woodworking machines such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers to cut, shape, and form parts and components. Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage. Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools such as planes, chisels, and wood files. Instruct apprentices. Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made. Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit and reinforce joints. Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
