About the Opportunity Reporting to the Manager of Seniors, Western Zone, the Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The Physiotherapist is a member of the Seniors LINCS interdisciplinary team and provides service primarily in the community setting. The Physiotherapist works with the other members of the interdisciplinary team to provide assessment, care planning and intervention to seniors in the home or hospital setting. The Physiotherapist collaborates with other members of the care team as well as patients, family and caregivers to maximize the function and independence of patients. In addition, the PT may provide clinical support to Geriatricians and other physicians to support assessment and intervention in the ambulatory care setting. The Physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and the assignment of and supervision of work of Rehabilitation Assistants. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required. The PT is responsible for adhering to Nova Scotia Health policies and procedures and to the professional standards of the licensing body, the Nova Scotia Regulator of Physiotherapy. About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following: Bachelor's degree or entry-level master’s program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university Membership with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Physiotherapy (Provincial licensing body) Computer skills (statistics input, word processing, Outlook) First Aid/CPR Physiotherapy is a diverse profession requiring additional courses/education/training in many specialized areas or practice, e.g., cardio‑respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc. Experience in geriatric care is an asset Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications. Hours Permanent Full-Time / 75 hours bi‑weekly Shifts may include evenings, weekends, holidays Compensation and Benefits $38.43 - $50.98 hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long‑term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
