The successful candidate will bring strong mechanical aptitude, production-line expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence within a fast-paced winery environment. Develops production schedules in collaboration with the Winemakers and plans to meet production goals, considering factors such as demand forecasts, raw material availability, and equipment capacity for our West Kelowna and Osoyoos locations.
Ensures that the bottling process complies with all relevant specifications, industry regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements. Oversees the maintenance and upkeep of bottling line machinery and equipment to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. Schedules and performs preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
Oversees the management of raw materials and packaging supplies required for the bottling process. Manages production costs within budget constraints by optimizing processes, reducing waste, and maintaining adequate inventory levels to avoid production disruptions.
Identifies areas of cost savings, and makes recommendations for process improvements or cost reduction initiatives.
Monitors product quality throughout the bottling process and implements quality control procedures to detect and address any issues promptly. Ensures that products meet established quality standards and specifications while using the equipment to its fullest potential.
Conducts safety training and regular safety inspections to prevent accidents.
Generates reports on production performance, quality metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management. Develops and maintains SOPs, training materials, etc. Provide training and development opportunities for the team.
Implements eco-friendly practices and initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of bottling operations, such as recycling and waste reduction programs.
Participate in harvest activities as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or technical training in mechanics, industrial maintenance or automation preferred.
Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar environment working in bottling or production line operations and maintenance.
Strong mechanical aptitude required.
Winery experience is an asset.
Deep understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety standards in the beverage or liquid bottling industry.
Ability to stand for long periods of time, work long hours during peak periods, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to work various shifts during harvest and bottling periods.
A Forklift License is an asset.
Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license for business travel between locations across the Okanagan.
