Pharmacy Assistant – Temporary Assignment – Markham, ON – Healthcare Are you a Pharmacy Assistant with strong Kroll, billing and adjudication (ODB) skills looking for a consistent, Monday‑to‑Friday schedule? We are supporting a leading specialty pharmacy partner in Markham that needs a dedicated assistant to join their team immediately. This is a temporary assignment estimated to run until approximately May 1, 2026 with the potential for extension—a perfect opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience in a high‑touch specialty environment. Advantages Consistent schedule – Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (no weekends required) Hourly wage ranges from $23 to $24, depending on your level of Kroll, billing, adjudication and (ideally) specialty medication experience Temporary assignment with anticipated end date of May 1, 2026 (extension possible to end of May 2026 based on business needs) Clean, ergonomic, technologically advanced and beautifully designed pharmacy Insurance and benefits optional through Randstad (details at https://www.randstad.ca/randstad-advantage/) On‑site, free parking Opportunity to learn alongside passionate pharmacy professionals who prioritize quality patient care Responsibilities Perform high‑volume prescription data entry and process transactions with accuracy using Kroll software Manage third‑party billing and claims adjudication, resolve coverage issues and coordinate with insurance providers Communicate professionally with patients regarding medication coordination, coverage and delivery logistics Assist with non‑sterile compounding (if experienced) or support the compounding team with preparation and packaging duties Maintain patient medication records and assist with inventory management and administrative tasks as required Conduct thorough patient history reviews, ensuring all required info is present and contacting patient support programs as necessary Demonstrate strong English communication skills, especially on the phone and in written communication; use problem‑solving skills to support patients dealing with various conditions Reach out to patients to address outstanding account receivables, explaining the purpose of collections calls clearly and effectively Perform data entry tasks, including working with Kroll and handling manual submissions for back billing claims Catch up on workflow items, ensuring timely follow‑up with patients and resolving any outstanding billing issues Qualifications 2–3 + years’ previous experience as a pharmacy assistant (any setting) Experience with ODB billing and adjudication (mandatory) Experience supporting private insurance billing and adjudication (mandatory) Experience using Kroll in a steady‑to‑fast paced pharmacy setting (preferred); other pharmacy‑specific software experience also encouraged Prior reimbursement specialist experience in pharmacy settings encouraged Strong communication skills (verbal and written) On‑site work only (no remote or hybrid) Positive team spirit, initiative and interest in a specialty setting required Ability to work any shift between 7 am and 7 pm Monday to Friday Nice‑to‑Haves Non‑sterile compounding experience Graduates from pharmacy assistant programs where Kroll is utilized Summary Qualified, available and interested candidates are encouraged to click “apply” on this page and submit an application via Randstad Canada’s confidential career portal.
