Position Overview Responsible for planning and coordinating data collection activities, conducting studies, analyzing transportation/traffic data, preparing plans and reports, compiling statistical records and performing field inspection duties in the areas of traffic engineering. Responsibilities Conducts traffic studies including reviewing the need for various traffic control devices, monitoring changes in traffic volumes and providing projections related to employment and population. Analyzes data compiled from traffic studies utilizing associated computer software producing reports and summaries of same. Assists in the preparation of assigned technical reports and provides recommendations related to in-house traffic operation studies and transportation planning studies. Coordinates and oversees data collection activities of assigned technical staff and contractors. Reviews transportation implications of assigned development proposals including the analysis of transportation impact studies for site plans, zoning and official plan applications. Monitors contract schedules, inspects work and reviews invoices/payment certificates for traffic control device installations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
