Reporting to theVP of Finance, you’ll oversee the accounting function, ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards, and provide accurate financial insights that support Minga’s growth. You’ll own the record-to-report, procure-to-pay, and invoicing processes..You willmanage a Junior Accountant, providing mentorship and guidance while maintaining hands-on involvement in day-to-day accounting operations.What You’ll DoLead and mentor the Junior Accountant, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and taxes.Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises.Implement and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and process improvements.Partner with the VP of Finance and other leaders to provide insights, forecasts, and analysis supporting strategic decisions.Manage external auditors and tax advisors during reviews, audits, and filings.Ensure compliance with local, provincial, federal, and US tax regulations.What We Require5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior management or supervisory experience.Proven ability to lead and develop at least one direct report.Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.Experience implementing or improving accounting systems and processes.
