Advapay Canada is a one-stop shop solution for companies looking to launch their FinTech business in Canada. We provide various consulting services related to MSB (Money Services Business) and PSP (Payment Service Provider) registration with FINTRAC and the Bank of Canada. Advapay supports its clients with compliance program development, business plan drafting, and bank account opening, ensuring smooth operations in a highly regulated environment. For operational clients, we provide outsourced compliance officer services to help ensure ongoing compliance with Canadian regulations. As we grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Compliance Officer to join our team and provide outsourced compliance support to our clients. Key Responsibilities As a Compliance Officer at Advapay Canada, your duties will include: Acting as the designated compliance officer for assigned clients. Assisting clients with the development and maintenance of AML/CTF programs, policies, and procedures. Providing guidance on compliance with Canadian regulatory requirements, including Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and the Retail Payment Activities Act (RPAA). Supporting clients during regulatory audits or examinations. Ongoing Monitoring and Risk Management Reviewing client transactions and reports to identify potential risks. Assisting with client risk assessments and internal controls. Ensuring timely updates of client compliance documentation. Training and Advisory Delivering basic compliance training to client teams as needed. Advising clients on regulatory changes and how to maintain ongoing compliance. Preparing and maintaining compliance records and reports. Coordinating communication between Advapay and client teams. Supporting the compliance team with documentation, scheduling, and general administrative tasks. Qualifications and Skills Education: Diploma or degree in law, finance, business administration, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 4–5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a regulatory role. Experience with Canadian MSBs, PSPs, banks or credit unions. Excellent understanding of Canadian regulatory landscape (e.g. PCMLTFA, RPAA). Strong analytical and organizational skills. Clear and professional written and verbal communication in English (additional languages are an asset). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with compliance or project management tools is an advantage.
