Opportunity Pharmacy Technician performs all aspects of drug distribution to provide for safe and effective patient care. Core duties include preparation, repackaging and final product checking of sterile and non-sterile products, individual patient prescriptions and ward stock. The technician assists with training and orientation of staff and students, supports medication reconciliation activities and builds interactive relationships with the healthcare team. AHS offers competitive pay and a Remote Retention Allowance up to $3,000. Description As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products. Qualifications Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Current, provisional, or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician. Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Alberta College of Pharmacists as a pharmacy technician. Demonstrated communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work in teams. Demonstrated computer or word processing skills. Committed to continual personal quality improvement and lifelong learning. Able to comply with ACP standards of practice for sterile and non-sterile compounding. Preferred Qualifications Local site knowledge or experience is an asset. Prior hospital experience with a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to automated dispensing cabinets, sterile and non-sterile compounding, BPMH (preferred). Prior experience in retail pharmacy setting (preferred). Membership with a pharmacy professional organization is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
