It is the Trauma Centre for Southern Alberta, Eastern British Columbia and Western Saskatchewan. FMC has a Neuro Tertiary Unit as well as the majority of In‑Patient Neurological services in Calgary. The present caseload for this position is in Unit 61/41A, with the potential for coverage on any unit/service as required. The caseload for all positions within the Social Work department may be subject to change based on operational considerations. The successful incumbent will show proficiencies in the following areas: inter‑personal skills with the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team; self‑direction and independent decision making, sound clinical judgment and critical thinking skills; time management and prioritization skills; effective communication with a patient and family‑centered focus; problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills; innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues; commitment to professional growth; integration of patient‑centered care principles; and behavior consistent with the values of AHS – compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and safety. Description As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter‑disciplinary team and provide a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include psychosocial assessment, resource‑based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities. Classification & Benefits Classification: Social Worker II Union: HSAA Facility PROF/TECH Employment type: Temporary FTE: 1.00 Posting end date: 16‑JAN‑2026 Temporary end date: 26‑JUL‑2026 Hours per shift: 7.75 Shift pattern: Days Minimum salary: $40.91 Maximum salary: $54.39 Required Qualifications Completion of bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). Additional Required Qualifications Minimum six months experience in an acute care setting.
