Substitute Teacher Positions at Al-Amal Academy and Green Dome Islamic School
Al-Amal Academy and Green Dome Islamic School are two Calgary-based Islamic schools within Prairie Land School Division. Substitute Teacher positions are available for the 2026-2027 school year.
Role Overview
Provide instructional coverage during teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment. Assignments vary across grade levels and subject areas as determined by school principals.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow established lesson plans and deliver instruction during teacher absences
- Support student engagement and maintain learning momentum
- Create and sustain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment
- Collaborate effectively with school staff and students
- Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism across different grade levels and subjects
Requirements
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility to obtain one
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate professionally with staff and students
- Preference for candidates with previous teaching or substitute teaching experience at multiple grade levels
- Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Check satisfactory to the division prior to commencement

Compensation
Salary follows Prairie Land School Division's substitute teacher pay scale.
