Automotive Mechanic

You will have the opportunity to be part of a growing team of technicians working to maintain all our medium and heavy‑duty construction equipment throughout the year. Responsibilities Service, diagnose, and repair heavy and light‑duty trucks, SUVs, and light trailers. Perform preventative maintenance as needed. Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems. Accurately record repairs performed and time taken. Continuously review potential hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to high standards. Conduct vehicle and trailer inspections. Train and mentor junior apprentices. Qualifications & Experience Must be a Red Seal Journeyman in the Heavy‑Duty or Automotive Technician trade. Previous experience in a heavy equipment environment is an asset. Class 5 license required; Class 1A or 3A license preferred. Welding experience is an asset. Preference given to those able to perform safety certifications. Requirements This position typically involves working in a garage or shop setting, with exposure to various weather conditions and noise levels. Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs or more, with assistance) and perform physically demanding tasks. Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoors and in confined spaces. Must have your own tools. Must have reliable transportation. Capable of meeting the physical demands of the heavy‑duty mechanic trade. Strong communication skills.
