OverviewSoftware Engineer - Contingent role at Ritchie Bros. The Software Engineer is responsible for analysis, development and ongoing support of key internal software systems at Ritchie Bros. with a specific focus on Salesforce and its related ecosystem. The Software Engineer will work closely with the Lead Software Engineer as well as other team members such as QA, Product Owners, System Integrators(DevOps), Solutions Architects and Business Users to deliver high quality software and ensure that systems are operating correctly once deployed. The Software Engineer will also use their knowledge of the IT Platforms to help guide the solution and implementation of key features on the platform.ResponsibilitiesDeliverhigh quality software efficientlyProvide technical input and leadership as requiredWrite high quality, testable and easily maintainable code in a variety of languages (APEX/SOQL, Java, SQL, Javascript, HTML, CSS)Perform peer code reviews and provide feedback to other development team membersPerform systems maintenance tasksAssist other team members in technical and other aspects of software developmentAssist Product Owners in turning high-level business requirements into technical tasks and contribute to estimationWork with all internal technical stakeholders (QA, System Integrators, System Analysts, Solutions Architects) to ensure product quality and reliability in production environmentsPerform Software Development activities in an Agile workflow with Scrum, backlog grooming, retrospectivesWork regular business hours remotely or onsite in Burnaby, BCSome on-call after hours support may be required and must be available for critical production support incidentsLift moderately weighted computer equipment and peripherals from time to timeActively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.QualificationsBachelor Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline3-5+ years developing software in a variety of environments with a focus on SalesforceExperience in an Agile EnvironmentEmployment typeFull-timeSeniority levelMid-Senior levelJob functionEngineering and Information TechnologyIndustriesConstruction, Machinery Manufacturing, and Truck TransportationLocation: Burnaby, British Columbia; White Rock, British Columbia, Canada #J-18808-Ljbffr
