Biomedical Engineering Technologist - Biomedical Engineering Employer: Nova Scotia Health Authority Location: Eastern Zone, Cape Breton Regional Hospital Req ID: 212571 Posting Closing Date: 9-Dec-25 Job Type: Temporary, Full-time (Long Assignment, 100% Hourly) About The Opportunity Under the supervision of the Manager, Biomedical Engineering, the Biomedical Engineering Technologist provides support for medical technology by repairing, maintaining and calibrating life support and other medical devices as well as maintaining medical computers and networks. The role also involves assisting in the training of physicians, nurses, therapists and other technical staff, and performing safety performance and routine inspections on electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment and systems. About You Successful completion of a two-year course in Electronics Engineering Technology (accredited diploma) required. Must be registered or eligible to be registered with TechNova as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) within two (2) years of hire. Must have access to reliable transportation. Must have working knowledge/training of electronics with the ability to repair, calibrate, and perform safety and performance routine inspections on electronic, electrical, mechanical and optical equipment, devices, systems and instruments. Certification as a Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist (CBET(C)) with the Canadian Board of Examiners for Biomedical Engineering and Dialysis Technologists and Technicians is required for achievement of step 5 of the pay scale. Competencies in other languages are an asset; French preferred. Hours Long Assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly. Position approximately 15 months in length. Compensation and Benefits $35.54 - $41.83 hourly.
