Apply for the RN - Cadet Camp Bagotville role at Bayshore HealthCare. The Cadet Camp runs from 25 June to 20 August. This is a short‑term position with full and part‑time hours. The service includes medical care for regular and reserve force members, cadets and civilian members of the camp. RNs provide patient history, physical assessment, counseling, and routine care on a walk‑in basis. The HCP must be available for eight‑ or twelve‑hour shifts per clinic schedule. Responsibilities Apply the policies, procedures and rules for provision of medical services to on‑site regular, reserve, cadet and civilian members. Assess patients who report to the clinic and administer needed care. Provide urgent care treatment or information to help resolve patients’ own health issues. Refer cases beyond knowledge and expertise to the Charge/Head Nurse or higher medical authority. Record observations, recommendations and appropriate treatments in the patient’s medical file. Provide OTC medication in accordance with level of responsibility, qualification and provincial registration. Ensure follow‑up with patients and keep Charge/Head Nurse or higher medical authority informed. Promote hygiene, safety and prevention of medical problems among camp members. Participate in tasks required for proper functioning of the clinic. Assist physician during clinic hours (MD, PA or NP). Administer and document cadet medication intake forms and drug distribution. Provide medical oversight of cadet medical intake forms during camp intakes. Head/Charge Nurse Responsibilities Assess patients and determine appropriate levels of care per clinic SOPs. Contact medical director, transfer patients to local facilities or recommend return home. Respond to queries from health professionals and cadet leadership in accordance with privacy law. Supervise and mentor student nurses on official rotations. Answer phone calls, emails, faxing, photocopying and completing administrative forms. Conduct clinic stock taking, supply orders and replenish supplies. Manage medication audits for cadet camp companies. >Provide overall clinic function and patient care oversight. Generate clinic reports and statistics as assigned. Act as liaison to regional cadet medical liaison officer and base surgeon. Adhere to Bayshore policies and participate in quality and safety activities. Notify supervisor of any health & safety risks and complete Accident Reports within 24 hrs. Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information. Administrative Functions (RNs) Answer calls and emails regarding clinic operation and patient well‑being. Follow‑up calls and emails to other health‑care practitioners or parents. Perform faxing, photocopying, and completing clinical, cadet and medical forms. Maintain clinic stock and coordinate orders. Manage medication audits and supply requests. Prepare clinic reports, statistics and other documentation. Provide medical matters per scope of practice and level of care. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and safety activities. Maintain confidentiality of information. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) credential. Completed Police Records Check (PRC) and Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS). French language proficiency is preferred. Availability for 8‑ or 12‑hour shifts, weekdays or weekends. Experience with military, cadet or civilian health care is advantageous.
