Join the Marriott family todayThe RoleThe Laundry Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel’s laundry operations, ensuring that linens are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. The role involves managing laundry staff, ensuring equipment is well-maintained, controlling costs, and maintaining consistent quality and efficiency in daily operations. The Laundry Manager will also play a key role in the opening of our new in-house laundry facility.Job DutiesOperational ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate all laundry activities, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distribution of linens.Monitor the condition of all linens; coordinate with the Executive Housekeeper for replacements when needed.Conduct bimonthly linen inventories.Maintain the cleanliness, order, and safety of the laundry area.Ensure proper use of washing formulas, detergents, and machinery to achieve the best results with minimal wastage.Establish and maintain laundry schedules to meet the operational needs of the hotel.Accommodating special requests as needed (guest & staff laundry).Staff ManagementRecruit, train, supervise, and motivate laundry team members.Schedule shifts and allocate duties to maintain smooth operations.Conduct regular training on fabric care, equipment handling, and hygiene standards.Evaluate staff performance and take corrective action when necessary.Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure team alignment, communication and consistency.Equipment & MaintenanceOversee the operation and maintenance of all laundry machines and equipment.Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs with the engineering department.Inventory & Cost ControlManage and monitor the inventory of linens, chemicals, and cleaning supplies.Keep detailed records of linen usage and life span.Plan and evaluate uniform replacement needs.Adapt and react to emergency linen and/or uniform needs.Health, Safety and HygieneEnsure compliance with hotel safety and hygiene policies.Train staff in safe chemical handling, fire safety, and first aid procedures.Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections.Enforce safety procedures minimizing workplace accidents.Experience And Educational Requirements3–5 years’ experience in hotel laundry operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position.Strong knowledge of fabric care, laundry chemicals, and equipment.Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Skilled in using Microsoft Office and other software applications required for office projects and operations.Amazing PerksMarriott Employee Travel program providing discounted room rates and food and beverage discounts at Marriott hotels.Personal days: 5 per year after 90 days of continued full-time employment.Food and Beverage discounts at all dining outlets.Growth and development opportunities, both personal and professional.Onsite staff accommodations including a residence, convenience store, and employee gym.One meal per day in the employee cafeteria (taxable benefit).Discounts on activities offered through our Activities Committee: e.g., skydiving, yoga, rafting, and more.Shuttle access to Calgary and Canmore.Health and wellness benefits (some restrictions may apply).Vacation accrues starting on day one at a rate of 4% of earnings.Discounted access to our Nordic Spa and discounted ski pass and golf rates.Kananaskis Parks Pass.Apply now or visit us to learn more information at www.livetheadventure.ab.caExperience the Kananaskis Mountain Lodge here: https://vimeo.com/261927699Season availability, subject to cut-off dates.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionManagement and ManufacturingIndustries: Hospitality #J-18808-Ljbffr
