As part of this team, you’ll collaborate with other Court and Registry Clerks, Registry Technicians, a Registry Supervisor, a Manager, and partners such as Crown staff, Sheriff Services, the Judiciary, legal counsel, RCMP, and other community partners. Our work ensures fair and accessible justice, building a welcoming, supportive environment focused on accuracy, integrity, and service excellence. The Role In this combined Accounting Clerk and Court Clerk role, you’ll support financial operations through reconciliations, trust and revenue processing, cash balancing, and deposits, while also assisting the Court Registry with data entry, client service, filing, and accurate court documentation. You will help provide a fair and reliable justice system for all by supporting partners such as the Judiciary, RCMP, and Crown Counsel. This position offers ongoing opportunities to learn, grow, travel, and gain hands‑on experience in accounting and Provincial and Supreme Court processes across Criminal, Civil, and Family law. Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED). Minimum of two (2) years of administrative support or customer service experience. Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a cashier or in a cash handling role. Accounting training and/or education may also be considered. Minimum of one (1) year experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and working with standard computer applications and software programs (e.g., Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook). Keyboard speed of 40 words per minute. Valid B.C. driver’s licence. Preference may be given to candidates with: Experience in court programs and applications (e.g., JUSTIN, CEIS, ARC, CTAS, CCD). Experience as a Court Clerk and/or Registry Clerk. One year of previous work experience in a legal environment. May be required to work flexible hours, including varied shifts and overtime on short notice. May be required to travel, including travel in adverse weather conditions and work in other geographical areas (including circuit court locations). Must have reliable transportation and/or be willing to travel with others. May be required to use personal vehicle. About this Position This position has full‑time on‑site requirements. An eligibility list may be established to fill future permanent vacancies. Terrace is known most famously as the home of the Kermode (Spirit) Bear, and the surrounding area offers hiking, mountain biking, camping, rock climbing, canoeing, cross‑country skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing. Terrace is the territory of the Tsimshian First Nation, whose culture includes traditional longhouses. Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
