Under the direction of the Manager, Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC), the Infection Control Practitioner (ICP) is responsible for the ongoing activity of the Infection Prevention and Control program for Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Employment Requirements Education/Experience Degree or diploma in a health related field (e.g. Bachelor of Science, Practical Nursing, Medical Laboratory) Current unencumbered license or registration from applicable regulatory body (e.g. College of Nurses of Ontario, College of Medical Laboratory Technologists) and Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC). Continued CIC from CBIC Completion of IPAC‑Canada endorsed infection control program. Recent experience working as an Infection Control Practitioner, preferably in an acute care setting, with current knowledge of infectious diseases and method to effectively control their spread with training or experience in healthcare epidemiology and infection control. Skills/Abilities Computer proficiency in word, power point and excel. Excellent time management, problem‑solving and communications skills. Demonstrates ability to work independently or as part of a team. Salary Range: $40.240 to 57.680 The Health Sciences Centre strives to ensure the safety and security of the patients, visitors, employees and assets financial and otherwise.
