As a Financial Planner, you will focus on developing and deepening mass affluent client relationships by providing high quality advice and service. As a dedicated entrepreneur, you know how to build and leverage your external / internal networks and centres of influence and understand that growing a practice is all about building new and long‑term relationships. External clients – Engage in proactive client outreach to individuals outside the Scotiabank network, showcasing the unique value a Financial Planner brings to their financial journey. Internal clients – Deepen client relationships by identifying and engaging with existing Scotiabank clients who may have limited interaction with the bank. Key attributes Driven by purpose and determination, you understand that your clients are your most valuable asset. You also enjoy the flexibility of meeting clients outside of the office, on a schedule that best suits you and them. Responsibilities Driving investment sales and new client acquisition, while adhering to Global Sales Principles, compliance and regulatory requirements. Establish business development opportunities with prospects and clients within the assigned market area. Promote the development and sustainable growth of proprietary investment business in the assigned market area. Business development focus Business Development – Execute business development plans for mass affluent prospects and existing clients. Client‑centricity – Provide client‑centric investment solutions through a financial planning framework. Community involvement – Participate actively in local professional and community events and associations. Qualifications 3 years of experience in financial planning and investment sales. Mutual fund certified professional with current accreditation and good standing for CIRO licensing requirements. Successful completion of the IPF designation. Proven networking, client acquisition and interpersonal skills; experience building and maintaining Centres of Influence (COIs). Goal‑oriented and entrepreneurial; able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a larger team. Extensive knowledge of competitive offerings, market trends, economic conditions, and the regulatory environment. Other Information The compensation structure for this role is base plus variable pay. This is a mobile role and will require frequent travel. In addition to French, the successful candidate must also have sufficient knowledge of English, as the work involves interacting and collaborating regularly with groups and individuals based in Toronto, as well as constantly interacting with other people, including clients, who speak English, locally and elsewhere.
