This role involves editing NHL hockey footage into concise, instructional video sequences for an online training platform. The editor will transform raw game clips into engaging learning materials by isolating key skills, removing unnecessary footage, and applying visual enhancements. The final videos must clearly demonstrate the skill being taught, smoothly transition into expert breakdowns, and introduce progressive drills, ensuring a seamless educational flow for viewers. This is a single project with a tight turnaround and the possibility of future assignments.
Deliverables
- Edit NHL game footage into short, focused clips that highlight specific hockey skills.
- Remove extraneous lead-in and post-play content to maintain viewer focus.
- Apply slow motion, freeze frames, replays, zooms, text overlays, and visual markers to emphasize key moments and decisions.
- Integrate voiceovers and ensure smooth transitions into expert analysis and drill demonstrations.
- Deliver a cohesive video sequence that guides viewers from observation to understanding and practice.
- Complete the project within one to two weeks.
Requirements
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and isolate key moments in sports footage.
- Experience with motion graphics, text overlays, and basic visual effects.
- Ability to blend audio elements, including voiceovers, with video content.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Interest in hockey or sports training content is a plus.
- Availability for immediate project start and quick turnaround.
