If you are looking to join a fun and innovative company focused on the booming digital health and fitness industry, this is the place for you About the Role: The Technical Software Development Manager is a hands‑on leader responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the design, development, testing, and deployment of high‑quality software solutions. This role combines technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills to deliver projects on time and within budget while fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. Work Location: The successful candidate for this role can be either a remote employee (working 100% remotely from a designated location within Canada), a hybrid employee (flexibility to work in the office or from home at a location within 75 km from the London, ON office), or an in‑office employee at our London, ON office. Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and career development support. Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Technical Expertise: Contribute to software design, architecture, and code reviews, ensuring best practices and high‑quality code. Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance development efficiency, quality, and team collaboration. Code Quality: Perform code reviews and ensure that code adheres to coding standards and security best practices. Resource Allocation: Manage project resources effectively, including assigning tasks, managing dependencies, and addressing any roadblocks. Communication: Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, providing regular updates and progress reports. Hands‑on Development: Participate in coding and development tasks as needed, especially during critical phases of projects. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a team lead or management role. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools. Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of developers. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. The successful candidate for this role will become an employee of Race Roster North America Corporation (doing business as ASICS Apps Canada), a subsidiary of ASICS Corporation, a Japanese multinational corporation. Race Roster was founded in London, Ontario in 2011.
