Project Superintendent

Position Summary As a Project Superintendent with Ventana Special Projects, you will oversee and execute complex projects valued up to $50 million. You will be responsible for creating and monitoring project momentum, scheduling, quality control, safety, and delegating work to the project team and trade partners. You will report directly to the General Superintendent and manage all trade relationships onsite. Key Accountabilities Providing overall leadership and direction for the site in cooperation with the Project Manager. Managing site operations on commercial, industrial, residential buildings, and civil/infrastructure based projects. Reviewing and maintaining documentation and drawings, completing daily site reports, POs, and project photos. Reviewing and enforcing trade partner contracts and identifying discrepancies in scopes of work. Monitoring expenditures effectively, reviewing invoices in detail, and managing labour and material costs according to the project budget and underlying estimate. Managing all required municipal and provincial inspections. Supervising and developing site team members through regular feedback, training, and coaching. Ordering materials and equipment and requesting sufficient manpower throughout the project to maintain schedule and productivity. Preparing and maintaining construction schedules and advising project team of potential problems, work interferences, and scheduling difficulties or deviations from the overall schedule, and assisting in resolving any conflicts. Promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel on site and monitoring safety performance. Working closely with Preconstruction on constructability, planning, value engineering, and trade procurement. Adhering to Ventana Special Project’s quality standards, monitoring the performance of sub-contractors, and implementing techniques to ensure quality issues are addressed proactively. Strong trade relationships and a diverse portfolio of trade contractors. Experience & Qualifications 7+ years of construction supervision experience, preferably with a general contractor. Trade background with progressive experience in general contracting. Post‑secondary industry education in Construction, Safety, or equivalent in company training (Red Seal, Gold Seal, construction and/or safety‑based formal education). Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, people management, project execution, cost control, quality, and administration. Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and/or being responsible for start to finish of projects with up to $50+ million‑dollar budgets.
