These being: Professional Practice, facilitation ofLearning, Leadership and Evidence, Research and development.Analytical & judgementskillsMake decisions about therange of Occupational Therapyinterventions and therapy plans based on clinical judgement of a serviceusers need.Conduct comprehensiveassessments of both service users and carers in line with team operationalpolicies.Analyse service usersoccupational performance areas and adapt interventions as required in order tomaximise and maintain service users skills and function.Formulate detailedassessments to inform the decision making regarding service users ongoingneeds.Planning & organisationalskillsPlan and coordinateOccupational Therapy care plans for both individuals and groups according totheir identified occupational needs. Coordinate transfer or referral of serviceusers to other teams or services where required.Prioritise, plan andcoordinate own workload and activities in line with the changing needs of theteam and service. This includes planning and monitoring service useroccupational needs and presentation, conducting assessments, ensuring patientrecords are up to date and supporting colleagues on a daily basis.Participate in caseloadmanagement audits and ensure relevant information is available for this to takeplace.Physical skillsTo undertake training inRESPECT techniques and undertake regular updates.To perform moving andhandling techniques as advised by moving and handling risk assessments.To educate and develop themoving and handling techniques of others.Responsibilities forpatient/client careUndertake OT assessments withservice users using standardised and non-standardised OT assessment tools, toidentify and address occupational performance and skill deficits.Assess and review serviceusers clinical risk management plan using the service's current riskassessment and OT risk assessment tools.Collaborate with serviceusers/carers to identify OT goals as part of the overall care plan.Plan and implement individualand/or group interventions, in collaboration with the service user, usinggraded activity and person centred principles to achieve therapeutic goals.Identify the needs of carersand refer for a carers assessments when appropriate and work collaborativelywith other professionals/agencies to develop support and educational activitiesfor carers.Participate in clinicalgovernance activities.To continue readingabout the duties of this role, please refer to the Job Description.Person SpecificationAdditional RequirementsExcellent time management skills, organisational skills, ability to work under pressure and to manage own and other workloads efficiently.Independently mobile i.e. drive and able to travel across Navigo.Ability to competently use a computer, including email, word and excel..KnowledgeComprehensive knowledge of clinical/risk assessment and understanding of Information Governance principles.Expert knowledge of Child Care legislation, Safeguarding, Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.Excellent knowledge of current local and national strategies concerning CAMHS, Childrens Services and mental health.Excellent understanding of child and adolescent development and its possible impact on emotional well-being.ExperienceRelevant post-registration experience of working with people with mental health needs, including those with an eating disorder.3 years post-registration experience (with a minimum of 2 years in a mental health setting).Knowledge of a range of theories and models underpinning Occupational Therapy clinical practice.An awareness of sensory integration and or training in sensory awareness .Experience of managing and developing staff including providing management and/or clinical supervision.Experience of building links with stakeholders and other organisations.An awareness of sensory integration and or training in sensory awareness .QualificationsRegistered with the Health and Care Professionals council.Recognised Professional Qualification in:Occupational Therapy.Qualification or training specific to the management of eating disorders and their comorbidities.Mentorship or similar qualification in supporting students in practice.Post registration training in supervision.Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
