Postmedia seeks a Journalist for a full-time, permanent vacancy covering Sherwood Park and Strathcona County. This role combines independent reporting with collaborative newsroom work, digital platforms, multimedia journalism, and social media. You will break news and develop enterprise features while reaching audiences across print and web.
Key Responsibilities:
- Find, develop, and tell stories affecting regional communities
- Report and write content for print and web audiences
- Apply legal knowledge and journalism ethics to coverage
- Write short and longform stories for regional readers
- Cultivate sources and establish expertise to break stories
Requirements:
- Experience at a community news organization
- Fluency in digital platforms, multimedia journalism, and social media
- Ability to work quickly and independently under multiple deadlines
- Ability to make efficient decisions in deadline-oriented work
- Ability to contribute constructively within a newsroom team
