House Parent

OverviewDescription Location: Jewison House, Pilot Butte, SK. Position: Full Time Permanent. Closing Date: January 31, 2026.Are you excited about making a positive difference in the lives of youths? We’re looking for a compassionate and energetic individual to become a House Parent on our team. You will create a nurturing, comfortable, and safe environment within our group living setting, maintain household standards for cleanliness, nutrition, and budget management, and foster a supportive space for individuals with complex needs, behavioral challenges, developmental disabilities, mental health concerns, and more.Education and Professional CertificationHigh school diploma required.Senior matriculation with specialized courses in food handling, cooking, or communication is an asset.ExperienceAt least one (1) year of experience cooking for large groups, such as in a family setting.Experience working with children, youth, or adults facing behavioral, cognitive, mental health, or developmental challenges is desirable.Skills And CharacteristicsProficient cooking and baking skills.Knowledge of the Canada Food Guide.Ability to create individualized meal plans for specialized dietary needs.Understanding of budgeting and resource allocation.Skillful in cleaning and maintaining a household.Strong organizational abilities.Capable of working collaboratively within a team and independently.Excellent interpersonal skills with a talent for building genuine relationships.Emotional intelligence and self-awareness.Demonstrates empathy, patience, and understanding in everyday interactions.Inclusive approach towards individuals with diverse needs.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Open to ongoing education and professional development.Basic computer proficiency.Duties And ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute monthly meal plans.Prepare nutritious, high-quality home-cooked meals, snacks, and baked goods. Assist with regular and special occasion meals as needed.Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping.Provide compassionate care and support to individuals with complex needs.Assist in teaching life skills such as self-care, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and fostering positive interactions.Complete reports and documentation with accuracy and timeliness, following agency standards.Undertake other related duties as assigned.LeadershipOffer guidance and feedback during morning routines, supporting the team and unit manager.Model positive behavior, uphold agency values, and demonstrate fairness.Provide support and direction in areas such as housekeeping, seasonal decorating, and meal preparation.Management of ResourcesManage and reconcile a monthly budget for food and supplies.Submit receipts and reconcile expenses for manager-approved expenditures.Accurately complete vehicle logs when using agency vehicles.Plan and purchase nutritious, quality, and non-prepackaged food items within budget.Purchase household and hygiene supplies as needed.Ensure daily maintenance of cleanliness in the home.SafetyPromote and maintain safe work practices and procedures.Follow agency and government regulations, policies, and instructions, whether written or verbal.At Ranch Ehrlo Society, we understand the importance of recognizing and rewarding the valuable contributions of our team members.
