Journeyperson or Apprentice Water Distribution Operator Apply for this role at ENWIN Utilities. Location: Windsor, ONHourly Rate: $36.38 - $38.29 Responsibilities Reporting to the Supervisor, Water Distribution, the successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and operating the water distribution system in accordance with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) and ENWIN requirements. Duties include: Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repair activities on the water distribution system. Plan, initiate, and tear down traffic plans and devices per MTO, MOL, City of Windsor regulations and ENWIN policy. Inspect contractor work to ensure compliance with ENWIN standards. Troubleshoot and respond to customer complaints. Commission new infrastructure, conduct water sampling, hot tap distribution system for new services and pressure stations. Find leaks, troubleshoot and diagnose water distribution network problems. Complete all required documentation. Qualifications Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. Water Distribution Subsystem Class 1 Certificate through MECP. Minimum 4 years of similar or related experience. Valid Class 'D' Ontario Driver's License with a 'Z' endorsement. Knowledge of Ontario Health and Safety Act and safe work practices. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate tools, equipment, and vehicles. Proficiency operating heavy equipment, especially backhoes or excavators, is an asset. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Experience with Microsoft Office, GIS, Laboratory Information Management Systems, water distribution sampling protocol, and mobile technologies is an asset. Training The position requires completion of an 8,000‑hour training program, including attainment of the Water Distribution Subsystem Class 1 Certificate. Progression within the classification depends on satisfactory performance and training objectives.
