Job OverviewThe Field Service Technician for Ingersoll Rand’s Compression Systems and Services Division will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. Use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting and maintain knowledge of all operations and parts manuals. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on Ingersoll Rand compressed air equipment. Interact with customers to address existing and unanticipated equipment concerns. Collaborate with the Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies needed for installations and repairs. Assist and train apprentices and field service technicians. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and co‑workers. Provide technical assistance on equipment pre‑commissioning and start‑ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems. Increase customer awareness of Ingersoll Rand products, services, and solutions such as preventative maintenance, diagnostics, audits and leak detection. Requirements 2+ years experience troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems. Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months, no major traffic violations in the past 5 years. Ready to be on-call; first 90 days no on‑call. On‑call weeks may occur every 4 weeks or more. Highly physical role requiring manual handling, stooping, kneeling, lifting within safety limits. High School Diploma or equivalent. Core Competencies Read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment. Advanced network systems installations (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation). Basic vibration troubleshooting. Basic air quality system knowledge. Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld computer. Maintain cost‑efficient business travel practices. Preferences Industrial air compressor maintenance knowledge. EPA certification. Veterans/Active‑Duty Military encouraged to apply. Travel & Work Arrangements Daily travel within 3‑hour radius of service area. Company vehicle and fuel card provided.
